Responsible gambling principles

RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING PRINCIPLES

The responsible gambling principles (hereinafter — the Principles) supplement the Rules and constitute a system of measures aimed at preventing and minimising the consequences of Players taking part in gambling on the website (hereinafter — the “website”), as well as measures aimed at setting up self-limitation and control for Players. The terms We use in these Principles carry the same meaning as in the Rules. Compliance with these Principles is mandatory for both Players and the Bookmaker network. By placing a bet, the Player confirms that they are aware of the current version of the Principles, agree with it and undertake to follow it strictly.

General provisions

Responsible gambling is one of the core principles behind the development and operation of the Bookmaker network. The goal of the Bookmaker network is to keep Players safe and protected from any harmful influence. The Principles, the Rules and conditions together with all supplements (for example, additional terms, rules, policies, etc.), as well as other provisions set by the Bookmaker network, apply to every transaction made by Players on the website. We do everything we can to keep these Principles clear, transparent and effective in practice.

By accepting the Rules and the Principles, the Player undertakes to use the website purely for entertainment and not to play while upset or depressed, not to treat play on the website as a source of income or a way to repay debts, and to play only with money they can afford to lose.

We have developed and put in place a range of tools and mechanisms to support responsible gambling and to monitor use of the website. The efforts of the Bookmaker network are directed at helping Players gamble responsibly and avoid the problems and consequences that can follow from misuse of the website and from gambling itself.

Preventing under-18s from gambling. Parental control

To take part in gambling on the website, We require Players to confirm that they have reached the age set by law. We take reasonable steps to verify age using electronic checks and spot checks. Our advertising is not directed at vulnerable groups.

People under 18 are prohibited from gambling, so We urge you to do everything possible to prevent this.  Players must be attentive and make sure their account is not used for gambling by such people, as they bear responsibility for it. To prevent such people from accessing the website, follow these rules:

  • never leave your personal computer, mobile phone or other device unattended while you are on the Bookmaker network website;
  • always log out when you finish a session on the website and never share your account access details, including username and password;
  • do not pass on your credit card or bank account details and do not leave the “Save password” option enabled;
  • use child-protection software and create a separate computer profile for each child;
  • if you know that a minor is using our website, contact the Bookmaker network support team.

There are several dedicated programs that let parents or guardians control or limit how a computer is used to access the internet:

  • the “Net Nanny” filtering program protects children from inappropriate web content; you can find it at www.netnanny.com;
  • “CYBERsitter” is a site-filtering program that lets parents add sites to block. Full details at www.cybersitter.com.

Customer verification (KYC) and centralised self-exclusion registers

We may periodically check various databases, including centralised self-exclusion registers maintained by the relevant authorities and/or gambling operators, to confirm that the Player is able to play without restrictions where this is permitted.

If We find that a Player is on such a register, We will reject the Player's registration on the website or, if the Player is already registered, immediately block the Player's account and carry out the account closure procedure in line with the Rules.

Self-assessment tests, support and customer help centres

To keep your play under control, We recommend that you monitor and review it on the website yourself at any time.

If a Player feels they may have a gambling addiction problem, we suggest answering the following questions:

  • Does the Player often choose gambling over time with family, friends or other activities?
  • Does the Player commit theft or otherwise take property that is not theirs,  sell valuables, or lie in order to get money for gambling?
  • Has the Player put their job or studies at risk because of gambling?
  • Does the Player see gambling as a way to escape a dull or unhappy life?
  • Has the Player ever spent all their money on gambling and been unable to buy food or pay for the journey home?
  • Does the Player hide how much time or money they spend on gambling?
  • Does the Player feel that people around them criticise how much time they spend gambling?
  • Does the Player feel depressed after losing money gambling? Does spending even more time gambling feel like the only way to get relief?
  • Does the Player  feel an urge to win back all their losses immediately after an unlucky run?
  • Does the Player  feel an urge to gamble more after arguments, disappointments or setbacks? Does gambling lead the Player  to depression or suicidal thoughts?

The more of these questions a Player answers yes to, the more serious their gambling problem may become.

There are several pieces of advice Players can use to keep gambling problems in check, in particular:

  • do not borrow money to gamble;
  • set a budget for what you can lose before you start playing, and stick to it;
  • use the self-control tools;
  • remind yourself that it is only a game;
  • take frequent breaks or alternate gambling with other activities;
  • avoid gambling when you feel stressed, uncertain or low.

The Bookmaker network support specialists are always ready to help Players with any question related to responsible gambling. If a Player runs into problems with safe play or needs advice or clarification on the Principles, they can always contact the Bookmaker network support team.

Although the Bookmaker network's main priority is to help Players resolve problems with unsafe play and reduce their impact, We are not a professional support organisation. We always recommend consulting a qualified psychiatrist or psychotherapist who can help the Player bring their gambling addiction under control. There are also many centres providing day-to-day professional support and counselling on gambling problems. Below is a list of centres We recommend contacting if you need help:

Cooling-off period and permanent self-exclusion

If a Player notices that they easily lose control over gambling and risk becoming addicted, We recommend considering measures such as voluntary self-exclusion for a set period (a cooling-off period) or permanently.

Once every 90 (ninety) days a Player may unilaterally restrict their own ability to play on the website by giving prior notice by email from their registered address, having logged in beforehand. The account will be blocked once final settlements have been completed.

In exceptional cases, a Player may submit a repeat request to restrict play on the Bookmaker network website, but no sooner than 30 (thirty) days after the previous request. The Bookmaker network reserves the right to refuse a repeat account block.

The Bookmaker network has the right to request documents from the Player to verify their identity before applying a restriction on their play on the website.

During a temporary self-exclusion period the Player is prohibited from playing any games, placing bets or using any other products and services on the website. The Player is also not allowed to top up their account.

If a Player decides to exclude themselves permanently, their account on the website will be closed. The Player will be barred from creating a new account on the site in the future. A self-exclusion request is processed provided the balance in the Player's gaming account does not exceed 20 EUR. If the balance exceeds 20 EUR, the request is processed after the funds have been withdrawn.

Other restrictions

The restrictions set out above may also be imposed by Us at the request of the relevant authorities, by court order, or in other cases provided for by applicable law.

We continually improve our technology and tools to detect signs of gambling addiction and Player vulnerability. If We notice any suspicious activity, We may apply any of the restrictions mentioned at our own discretion.
